Introduction

A dual-qualified attorney licensed in both Korea and California, Iseo Kim advises multinational corporations and cross-border businesses on employment, privacy, and regulatory matters across both jurisdictions. With a track record spanning Fortune 500 companies in the global IT, platform, consumer goods, and private equity sectors, Iseo Kim brings a practical, business-focused approach to navigating complex international regulatory environments — helping clients achieve their commercial objectives while managing legal risk.

Employment & Labor
Iseo Kim counsels leading multinationals and large enterprises on the full spectrum of employment and workforce matters, working closely with international law firms and the headquarters and APAC legal teams of global companies. Her practice encompasses employment contract structuring, executive actions, reductions in force, internal investigations, and labor-management relations — with a particular focus on high-stakes situations that demand both legal precision and strategic judgment. She has led large-scale restructuring and RIF matters, including advising a global consumer goods company through a full market exit from Korea.

Privacy & Data Protection
Iseo Kim advises clients on data breach response, cross-border data transfer compliance, and the full suite of privacy documentation — including privacy policies, data processing agreements, and standard contractual clauses. She has represented clients before the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) and counsels on the interplay between Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act and Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), helping multinationals build coherent, jurisdiction-spanning data governance frameworks.

Government & Regulatory Affairs
Iseo Kim has extensive experience representing clients before Korea's major regulatory bodies, including the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) and the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC). Her work goes beyond reactive compliance — she has led direct engagement with agency officials, identified legal deficiencies in enforcement standards, and successfully prompted regulatory bodies to revise the very criteria used to impose sanctions. That revised framework subsequently served as the basis for a favorable outcome in administrative litigation.

Korea–U.S. Cross-Border
Iseo Kim advises Korean companies expanding into the U.S. and U.S. companies entering the Korean market on the legal and regulatory challenges that arise at every stage of the process. Her cross-border practice covers U.S. entity formation, holding company restructuring and flip transactions, VC financing, and ongoing operational compliance — including employment and privacy matters under both Korean and U.S. law. She brings an integrated perspective that allows clients to move across borders with confidence.
