Partner ShinYoung Choi Presents Legal Challenges on AI and Women’s Safety through “Women in Politics
Cha & Kwon Law Offices Partner Sin-young Choi contributed an article titled “Are Women Safe in the Age of AI?” to Women in Politics Vol. 23 (2025).
In this article, Attorney Choi analyzes the potential impact of the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) technology on women’s safety and gender equality, emphasizing the need for legal and institutional responses. She highlights risks such as gender bias in AI training processes, cyber violence targeting women, and the potential spread of illegal imagery, calling for stronger legal regulations and gender-sensitive policy design to safeguard women’s rights.
She also introduced international frameworks such as the EU AI Act and OECD recommendations, stressing the urgency for Korea to establish AI legislation that aligns with global standards while incorporating a gender perspective.
