One of the most important issues regarding inheritance tax is disputes over inheritance division. The inheritance tax is not imposed for an inherited property that does not exceed one billion KRW. However, the recent spike in real estate pushed many apartment prices to exceed one billion KRW, making many people subject to inheritance tax. Consequently, disputes over inheritance division rose in number.
