Winning All Claims for Damages

Client A found that his car parked at a public institution was horizontally scratched with white paint. From his dash cam, the client was able to confirm that the other party B damaged A's vehicle due to inexperienced driving while parking but fled the scene. The client sought legal help from Cha & Kwon Law Offices.

Our firm confirmed the identity of B after checking the vehicle number from the dash cam video through an official inquiry to an investigative institution and charged B for damages equivalent to the cost of metal painting and vehicle rent.

In response to A's claim, B requested the court to dismiss A's claim, arguing that only B's vehicle appeared in the dash cam video without showing A’s car at the moment of the impact.

We argued that B's fault can be checked based on the fact that the dash cam footage showed B's vehicle making contact with A's vehicle, the hood of which lifted upon contact, and that B had taken actions to check the vehicle condition after the impact, yet, nonetheless left the parking lot. As a result, the court acknowledged all of B's illegal acts and declared a verdict in favor of A's entire claims.

Cha & Kwon Law Offices carefully checked the installation and operation of the dash cam, the damaged area, and the time of damage, and closely tracked the characteristics of the scene despite the defendant's denial of wrongdoing, producing a successful and satisfactory outcome for the plaintiff.
