"Proactively study how technology will change the world"... IT Blockchain Task Force Launched

The Korean Bar Association has established the "IT Blockchain Special Committee" with a two-year term. Attorney Lee Sang-jik of Pacific Law Firm, with experience in ICT policy and regulation, has been elected as the chairman. The committee also includes vice chairperson Mr. Ohoon Kwon from Cha & Kwon law offices.

The committee's objectives include organizing seminars and improving institutional frameworks related to IT and blockchain. They aim to address issues such as privacy and copyright infringements by global tech companies, the impact of AI algorithms on society, and the potential legal implications of emerging technologies like generative AI.

Lee emphasized the need to study how these technologies can either pose a threat or enable better legal services for the public. The committee's research will focus on addressing real-world challenges and leveraging AI data technology to support legislative efforts that benefit everyone.
