Japan Freezes Assets Linked to Hamas Financing Amid Israel Invasion
The Japanese government, at its cabinet meeting on October 31, decided to freeze the assets of nine Hamas operatives and one cryptocurrency trading company. This action was taken due to their involvement in financing the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which had invaded Israel. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno, a spokesman for the Japanese government, stated that they would continue to review sanctions targets to counter terrorist financing. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida condemned Hamas’s attack on Israel as an act of terrorism and called for the immediate release of hostages and a swift resolution to the situation.
