South Korea’s National Pension Service (NPS) Expands Crypto Exposure Through Indirect Investments
South Korea's National Pension Service (NPS) is boosting its indirect investments in cryptocurrencies. According to a recent SEC filing, NPS purchased around $34 million worth of MicroStrategy shares in Q2 2023. MicroStrategy, the largest Bitcoin holder, owns over 226,500 bitcoins. The NPS's stock purchase is seen as an indirect investment in Bitcoin. Additionally, the NPS holds shares in the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. It initially bought 282,673 shares at $70.50 each, now valued at $47.18 million, despite selling some shares.
