New Crypto Exchange Deposit Fee Calculation Standards Released
The Digital Asset Exchange Joint Consultative Committee (DAKSA) has released the “Model Standards for Calculating User Deposit Fee Rates” to help crypto exchanges rationalize the fee rates for customer deposits. This is in response to the Act on the Protection of Users of Virtual Assets, which came into effect in July and provides guidelines for exchanges to moderate the heated competition among exchanges. Under the standard, exchanges are required to calculate user fee rates considering revenue and expenses, not to discriminate, and to re-calibrate them every quarter. The re-calibrated user fee rates will be announced in advance, and Dax will provide a comparative disclosure service.
