[LawTV] Sangjin Cha (Cha & Kwon Law Offices) has been elected as the new appointed president of Korean Association of Patent Attorneys. 

The Korean Association of Patent Attorneys held a general meeting on September 19th, 5 P.M. (at 14th floor of Korean Bar Associations Building, Yeoksam-dong, Seoul) and elected Sangjin Cha as the new president to succeed the former president TaeOn Koo. 

Having passed the 3rd bar exam, he has served in various positions in Korea Securities Depository, National Tax Service, and as the executive of Korean Banking and Financial Law Association. He now handles finance areas, specializing in securities, IP, fintech, and tax. 

Sangjin Cha told LawTV, "currently there is an increasing demand on attorneys' role in the area of Intellectual Property, and the number of attorneys aiming to specialize in this field is growing as well." He added, "However, as the regulations seem to go against this trend, I will strive to improve this situation." 

As one of the 4 specialized attorney associations of the Korean Bar Association, Korean Association of Patent Attorneys is continuously recruiting members interested in the field and is currently comprised of 521 attorneys.
