FTX Files for International Bankruptcy for Its FTX.US

Virtual asset exchange FTX filed for international bankruptcy of its subsidiary FTX.US, but some argue that it will not be legally effective. Partner attorney Ohoon Kwon, specializing in U.S. bankruptcy law, explained, “As FTX.US has assets in the U.S., if FTX files for international bankruptcy against it, the measure will be legally effective. This is because international bankruptcies pertain to foreign companies in the U.S.”
