A promotion committee for the creation of the "Busan Digital Asset Exchange (Busan Exchange)" was established by Busan City. By the end of this year, the city intends to launch the Busan Exchange's services. The group claims that the exchange would be decentralized with independent deposit and settlement operations overseen by the private sector. However, given the slow pace of the larger effort to create a blockchain regulation-free special zone, there is growing doubt that the exchange will be established as intended. Some of the city's initial ambitions currently appear to be challenging to implement.
